You Stupid Fat Bitch

“You stupid fat bitch. Why are you doing this to me?! You’re fired that’s it”

“So what exactly is bipolar disorder?”

“Whatever. No I’m not getting you your Flexeral. If you want your meds go see your doctor.”
“He always gives them to me”
“Then go.”
“Fine I will. Just untie me and call 911.”
“No, I’m not doing that.”
I exit the room and close the door.
She takes in a deep growling breath and spits on the floor. Again.
I roll my eyes.

“Bipolar disorder… Its highs and lows… depression and mania”

The screaming continues from behind the glass.
“You stupid fat cunt. I can’t breath!” Pulling hard against the restraints. Eyes bulging.

“People with this disorder have cycles. Some peoples are fast and others are slow.”

“Please can I have some more chicken broth and a hot meal? I shouldn’t be here. I came in the wrong door.”
“Oh yeah.”

“You can see with her it’s fast.”

“Look bitch you better open the door or I’ll leave.” Pulling at restraints.

“You know she can sing.”
“Yeah she was studying piano and voice and then this…” Gesture towards the closed off glass room. Inside snot is all over her face her hair is everywhere.
“So well she’s off her meds and then this happens.” She is another person who would never choose this. She is suffering.

“Please would you wipe my nose?” Pulling, crying and pleading her voice muffled voice through the glass.
I slide the heavy door open and turn to ask for a washcloth. I run the water until it’s warm; saturate the cloth then slowly wash her face.
She is quiet and still. The Geodon is setting in. I lay a towel across the head of her bed.
“Would you like me to wash your hair?” I ask as I wash the scars and healing wounds that cover her neck and face.
“Yes please”
She lays back and I wash and brush her hair and speak in a soft voice while her eyes begin to flutter closed. She says I’m the only nice one. I wasn’t so nice a minute ago I recall.
I pull her hair tight and high so she can sleep better. I bring her chicken broth to replace the one she threw on the tech. I cover her in warm blankets. I tuck her stray hair and tell her to rest.
